Overview

This position reports to the Chief Diversity Officer in the Office of Diversity & Inclusion and is responsible for quality, cost, and diversity analytics which include tracking, analyzing, and reporting quality, cost, and diversity data related to diversity and inclusion education, health disparities, employee engagement, and service excellence for staff, physicians, and patients within Yale New Haven Health System. Responsibilities include but are not limited to extracting data from existing information systems (e.g. Epic, Infor, Health stream, Patient Satisfaction, Applicant Tracking and Employee Engagement software), developing methodologies to track other relevant data that is not already captured in an existing system, entering or loading extracted data into internal and external reporting systems (e.g. NHSN), developing reports and reporting platforms (i.e. Dashboards) to increase transparency and information flow among providers, administrators, and other management, and providing other necessary analytical support to clinicians and management in order to improve the quality and consistency of the care provided within Yale New Haven Health System. This role will be responsible to complete annual diversity and inclusion benchmarking surveys as assigned. This position will also serve to conduct NEOs, education and awareness classes and provide updates to our web portals and education catalogues. Works on low and medium-level complexity projects independently, and seeks guidance, as appropriate, on highly complex tasks. This position is able to design and implement data systems to collect, abstract and process data that will be used for internal and external reporting. This position will also serve as an expert user and administrator for enterprise wide decision support, surveillance and data systems. This position will work closely with each YNHHS delivery network to assist in the collection/entry of data, production of reports and analysis of data. May require travel between YNHHS facilities. Comprehensive knowledge of diversity and inclusion preferred, and data analytics including report writing and study design. Must have knowledge of designing and implementing data analysis plans. Working knowledge of database structure (MS Office Suite), statistical packages, and business intelligence required. Able to master CDC calculator and Census Government tools.

  • 7. Serve as a back-up for NEOs and education and awareness classes throughout the health system.
  • 8. Complete monthly updates to education catalogue, internal and external web portals and diversity and inclusion newsletter.
  • 9. Work collaboratively with others within the department and serve as a back-up for any role as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

 

Bachelor's degree required in information technology, computer science, data management, public health or other relevant field. Master's in Public Health, Health Administration, Business Administration or other relevant field desirable.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

Requires a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of relevant work in data management and analysis. Experience in a Health Care Setting is preferred.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS

 

The ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate meetings and project work across the complex schedules of multiple leaders and collaborators. Organization skills which support senior and executive level decision makers. Experience in using financial models, pro forma economic assessments and other analytical tools.

 

PHYSICAL DEMAND

 

Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
